Why Roma?

A decisive factor in the process for Dybala was the enticing opportunity to work with head coach Jose Mourinho. ‘The Special One’ is renowned for his achievements throughout his managerial career.

More recently, he led Roma to European success by winning the UEFA Conference League after beating Feyenoord 1-0 in Tirana.

Dybala said: “I am joining a team that is on the up, a club that continues to put in place strong foundations for the future.

“And a coach, Jose Mourinho, that it will be a privilege to work with.”

The Argentine also touched on the dedication and support amongst the Roma faithful, adding: “As an opponent, I have always admired the atmosphere created by the Roma fans – I now cannot wait for the chance to salute them while wearing this shirt.”

Of course, as a free agent, the striker was linked with several clubs throughout the summer, including Manchester United.
