Forest Strengthening

Newly promoted Forest are in the process of strengthening their squad in order to remain in the Premier League. The 25-year-old Henderson is no stranger to a side new to the top flight after spending the 2019/20 season on loan at Sheffield United, where he was often labelled as a hero for his performances in goal.

If The Premier League newcomers can complete the signing of the Englishman then they will have secured a great goalkeeper who could be the difference between survival and a trip back down to the Championship.

Henderson Number 1 Ambitions

Since being promoted from Manchester United’s youth system Henderson has had a string of loan spells, impressing at Shrewsbury Town and Sheffield United in that time, but has never come close to unseating David de Gea as the number one goalkeeper for the reds.

Unfortunately for Henderson, the world-class Spaniard is not going anywhere anytime soon. If the 25-year-old wants to build on his singular cap for England and establish himself as a first-choice Premier League goalkeeper then this move to Nottingham may be his best choice.

The reported deal is smart and beneficial to all parties involved. Nottingham Forest are gaining the services of a top-class goalkeeper on loan for the season, if they remain in the Premier League then they can purchase Henderson and build on their success, if things go poorly and Steve Cooper’s side goes down then Manchester United and Henderson can look for a new club to sell to next summer.
