Tottenham Hotspur are set to announce the signing of Ivan Perisic on a free transfer, with the Croatian penning a deal that will be worth roughly £180k per week, according to Mike McGrath of the Telegraph. The 33-year-old will join Spurs when his deal with Inter Milan expires this summer, with the move marking the beginning of what should be a fruitful few months of transfer market activity for the North London side.

The Start of the Antonio Conte Era
When Antonio Conte joined Spurs in November 2021, there were hopes among the fanbase that he would finally be the one to lead them to a trophy. Some concerns did exist that like his predecessor, Jose Mourinho, his being a serial winner wouldn’t be enough to guarantee titles at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the Italian manager already seems to have found more success than his Portuguese counterpart.
While they are yet to win a trophy under Conte, Spurs have shown glimpses of promise during his first season at the helm. He has revitalised the world-class talent that is Harry Kane, convincing him to stay in the English capital in the process, as well as getting the most out of others like Son Heung-Min, who was joint winner of the Premier League golden boot for the 2021/22 season.
Having signed youthful duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur in January, Conte has now turned to his more signature signing of an experienced star.
It was revealed days ago that the Inter Milan attacker’s decision would come soon, but it was rather surprising to all how quickly Daniel Levy and his team were able to wrap the deal up.

A free transfer, this move will still cost Tottenham £180k in wages per week, so they are evidently signing Perisic to be a regular starter despite his age. A trio of Son, Kane and Perisic could be devastating to opposition defences next campaign, and there will yet be more additions for Spurs fans to get excited about.
