Plenty of Interest in Talent
Catching the eye of Manchester United alone is a pretty big deal. However, Malcolm Ebiowei also has interest from Crystal Palace, Vitesse and Monaco, among others.
In 2021/22, his debut season, he made 16 appearances at senior level for Derby County, scoring one goal and providing two assists. It’s been a difficult season for the Rams but many of the players have shined through including a few from the academy. Despite inevitable relegation, it’s remarkable the pride the players of the football club instilled into the fans during such adverse times.
The sale of the football club is reportedly close to completion.
Steve McClaren Factor Could Help Manchester United Win the Race
Few will know Ebiowei as first-hand as Steve McClaren, Manchester United’s returning assistant coach. McClaren has been working at Derby County in recent months and will know all about the youngster.
Romano states McClaren could be a factor but no decision has yet been made.
Manchester United’s appointment of Erik ten Hag as manager is in line with the club’s development idealisations. Ten Hag has a proven record of bringing talent through at Ajax, a club that makes a living out of doing such. His appointment will only enhance the pathway already there at Old Trafford.
Ebowei started out at Arsenal and has been capped by the Netherlands at U15 level and England U16s. He holds a Dutch passport.
