Robert Lewandowski’s Barcelona transfer is looking increasingly likely as his agent, Pini Zahavi has told Bild, “For Lewandowski, Bayern is history”. Lewandowski has fallen out with the Bayern Munich board over contract talks and will leave Bayern Munich this summer.
Talks have started between Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as reported by Fabrizio Romano with Barcelona making an opening offer. Bayern want more and want a ready made replacement before their star man goes anywhere. Bayern were priced out of a move for Erling Haaland by Manchester City.
The striker has said, “I’ve received no contract offer from FC Bayern and decided to leave. We need to find the best solution for me and for the club.” The club, however, are not letting a move happen easily.

Bayern director Salihamidžić has said, “He has a contract until 2023 and he will fulfill it.” And Oliver Kahn, Bayern Munich’s chief executive, told br24sport the Polish international would be going nowhere this summer, saying, “It’s not something that causes us a headache. We made an offer to his agent. He rejected this offer.”
Julien Nagelsmann said, “My opinion is known and his contract situation too… it’s [the] club’s business. You can ask Robert or the club,” when questioned about his star striker.
Zahavi has dished out a threat to the Bavarians, saying, “Bayern say he has a contract until 2023? Of course, they can keep Robert for another year… but that’s something I don’t recommend.” It is becoming an ugly situation between player and club. It seems there is only one way that this breakup can be resolved.
Robert Lewandowski has not been happy with his situation for months and has always dreamt of playing in Spain, at either Barcelona or Real Madrid. The 33-year-old is top of Xavi’s wish list this summer. Lewandowski has scored 344 goals for the club in all competitions for Bayern, helping them to eight Bundesliga titles in his eight seasons, along with three German Cups and the Champions League.
Price of a Goal Scorer
Lewandowski has an incredible goalscoring record. The Polish captain is set to become the Bundesliga’s top scorer for the fifth season in a row. The 33-year-old has 509 goals and 135 assists in 675 career club games. He also has 75 in 129 for his country. Reports from Sky in Germany are that Barcelona are set to offer a two- or three-year contract with a salary of £30-34 million a year.
Barcelona were priced out of a move for Erling Haaland due to the high fees involved. The Catalans can pay high salaries however, making a move for Lewandowski more likely.
