The Manchester United Defender Has Struggled to Adapt to Life at Old Trafford

Since joining the Red Devils in 2019 for around £50 million, Wan-Bissaka has struggled to cement his place in the Manchester United lineup.

Known for his incredible one-on-one defending, Wan-Bissaka has been criticised for his lack of attacking output at United. Since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim boss at Old Trafford, Wan-Bissaka has only made seven appearances, with Diogo Dalot being the preferred choice at right-back despite his defensive insecurities.

With the importance of attacking full-backs in the modern game, many United fans do not believe that the 24-year-old has what it takes to play at the top level of English football.

It is reported that Crystal Palace may opt for a loan move rather than paying a transfer fee for their former player.

Palace Keen to Continue Progress

Wan-Bissaka is not the only player for whom Crystal Palace have a potential transfer lined up. Patrick Vieira says he wants to continue to improve the squad. Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this week, he revealed: “We want to improve the squad but there are not going to be 10 new signings, what is really good about this club is that we want to be sustainable.

“We are not going to change six or seven players every year.

“We have young players who hopefully will be here for a long period of time and we want to build this club with them.

“The longer they stay with us, the better the club will be and the better they will be as players. That is how we want to improve.”

Vieira helped freshen up an ageing Palace squad last year by signing six players under the age of 25. It has been an impressive season for the club who sit comfortably in mid-table as well as having reached the FA Cup semi-final, narrowly losing out to Chelsea.
