The contract offer comes after Chelsea reportedly bid €85 million for the player in the summer transfer window, as per Hadrien Grenier.
His current contract runs until June 2024 however speculation of a move had arisen in the previous months.
Marquinhos first joined the French club in 2013 for a reported fee of €31.4 million. He has won 24 trophies with PSG since his arrival; however, the final piece is still missing – the Champions League.
He was part of the team that reached the final in 2019, however, they stumbled to a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.
Marquinhos has been a key part of PSG’s success since the club was acquired by Qatar Sports Investment.
He formed an impressive partnership with fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva, replacing him as captain following his departure to Chelsea. The two formed a strong defensive allegiance for Paris, allowing their attacking talents to express themselves.
Marquinhos further enjoys a great relationship with the Parisian supporters. He decided to learn French upon his arrival and has always shown passion and love for the club.
He considers Paris his home and has enjoyed memorable moments in the capital, such as proposing to his fiancé under the Eiffel Tower. His daughter was also born in Paris.
PSG are looking to clear out their squad in January, with Rafinha, Colin Dagba, Abdou Diallo, Layvin Kurzawa all set to leave.
Argentine striker Mauro Icardi could be set for a move following the arrival of Lionel Messi, which has restricted his opportunities
