Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs since he arrived at the club in the summer of 2020. However, the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool from England, who have all shown interest, would have to part with no less than €100 million to purchase the midfielder. That’s according to Bild in Germany.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham Could Cost Suitors at Least €100 million
His Value Has Rocketed Since Arriving in the Bundesliga
The teenager moved from boyhood club Birmingham prior to the 2020/21 campaign and, despite his inexperience, fitted in seamlessly at Dortmund.
Since his arrival, Bellingham has established himself as a crucial component of Dormund’s side. Last season, he quickly became a starter and eventually went on to feature 29 times in the Bundesliga, as well as hugely impressing in the Champions League.
His consistently impressive form also saw him break into Gareth Southgate’s England squad, of which he is now a regular feature and even went to this summer’s European Championships.
His staggeringly mature and dominant performances have also seen his market value skyrocket. According to Bild, the teenager arrived at Dortmund with a value of €11 million (although was brought into the club for around €30 million, as reported by Sky Sports) but is now worth somewhere in the region of €55 million.
It Would Take a Lot to Tear Jude Bellingham Away From Borussia Dortmund
However, it is believed that an offer of nearly double that figure would be deemed worthy of tearing Bellingham away from his Dortmund contract – which, unfortunately for his suitors, ties him down to the club until 2025.
Amid interest from the Premier League and across Europe, Bild claim that a fee of €100 million is what Dortmund see as suitable.
Liverpool are one side heavily linked to the teenager, with the Daily Star previously reporting their willingness to part with a club-record £80 million to secure his services.
Also involved in the race are Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has publicly praised Bellingham, admitting his amazement at his maturity following his remarkable midfield-bossing performance against the Cityzens in last season’s Champions League quarter-finals.
Also among the clubs competing for the 18-year-old’s services are Chelsea, while Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also interested in poaching him.
