Ready for First-Team Football
D’Mani Mellor recently returned from an anterior cruciate ligament injury after some time out of action.
The 20-year-old has already been involved in the goals for Manchester United’s U23s this season – scoring v Leicester City and assisting v Chelsea in two PL2 appearances.
Mellor also took the captain’s armband at Stamford Bridge.
The forward feels he is ready for first-team football in the Football League, he told salfordcityfc.co.uk: “I can’t wait to get started with Salford City. Having spoken to the manager and his staff, I know this is the perfect place for me to start playing regular senior football.
“I’ve been at Manchester United since the age of eight, I’ve loved my time in the academy and learnt so much but I’m ready now to compete every week in the Football League.
“Salford is a great club, it is one I know well as a local lad, the fans are really passionate and I’m looking forward to performing for them over the season.”
D’Mani Mellor will no doubt be aware of his United U23s teammate Di’Shon Bernard‘s successful spell at the Peninsula Stadium. Bernard, a defender, made 35 appearances for the club last season and was amongst the best performers of United’s loan crop in 2020/21. He is now on loan at Hull City in the Championship.

“We are delighted that D’Mani has agreed to join us on loan and he gives us another attacking option!
“He is an exciting player with an incredible work rate who was very excited to come and join us.”
Mellor will wear the number 19 shirt.
