Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath reports that the club are keen to bolster their striking options and want the Serbian to support Harry Kane up front.

Kane has been the subject of intense transfer speculation linking him to Manchester City this summer, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is adamant that the English striker will not be leaving the club.

Dusan Vlahovic an Option for Tottenham Hotspur

Another Serie A Swoop

The large majority of Spurs’ transfer targets this summer have come from Serie A, which is no surprise given that new director of football Fabio Paratici was previously at Juventus.

The club have already signed Pierluigi Gollini on an initial loan from Atalanta, and are targeting moves for Cristian Romero, also of Atalanta, and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.

McGrath reports that Spurs have also looked at Crotone forward Simy as a potential option to support Kane if they decided not to move for Vlahovic, who is 21-years-old.

Southampton striker Danny Ings is also an option having failed to agree a new deal at the club, but the arrival of Paratici who will bring fresh contacts from his time at Juventus has broadened the market for Spurs.

Vlahovic enjoyed an excellent campaign in Serie A in 2020/21, scoring 21 times in all competitions, coming behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Luis Muriel.

This means, though, that Fiorentina could demand up to €50 million for the striker, which Spurs may consider a lot to pay for someone to just support their star man in Kane.

Simy, a 29-year-old Nigeria international, would therefore represent a cheaper option, especially after Crotone’s relegation from the top flight.

Hart Set to Move On

The aforementioned move for Gollini is set to allow Joe Hart to depart the club after just one season.

The former England international arrived as a back-up to Hugo Lloris but is now in talks over a move to Celtic.

Hart made just ten appearances for the club last season; two in the FA Cup and eight in the Europa League.
