Deal Agreed
The deal for Starfelt is all agreed according to Romano, and all that awaits now is the official confirmation from Celtic.
The Swede’s arrival comes as Norweigan defender Kristoffer Ajer pushes to leave Celtic Park. Celtic have rejected numerous bids as they look to get their asking price of £20 million, leaving him unhappy.
However, with Starfelt’s imminent arrival, it looks as though Ajer is going to get his wish one way or another.
Starfelt will likely join in time for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against Midtjylland next week.
Other Targets
As previously reported, Celtic are also interested in signing Rennes right-back Brandon Soppy.
The teenager, who is also a target for a number of French sides, made his breakthrough last season, appearing nine times in Ligue 1.
He also featured twice in the Champions League and three times in the UEFA Youth League.
In addition, the Daily Record’s Liam Bryce reports that Ange Postecoglou’s side are on the verge of signing Israel winger Liel Abada.
The 19-year-old is set to join from Petah Tikva and was also wanted by Club Brugge in Belgium, but Celtic have won the race for his signature.
That deal could be completed within the next 24 hours.
