Lazio have reached an agreement to sign Luka Romero from Mallorca, according to Fabrizio Romano. Further, they are now trying to sign Felipe Anderson from West Ham on a free transfer.
Lazio to Sign Luka Romero and Felipe Anderson
Deal for Luka Romero Almost Done
Luka Romero is a promising young midfielder who made his La Liga debut for RCD Mallorca at just 15 years and 219 days. The Argentine, now 16, also made two appearances in the Copa del Rey and six in the Segunda Division last season. La Liga’s youngest ever player is now set for a Serie A move.
Lazio are now very close to agreeing a deal. Romero is set to have his medicals soon. He could join pre-season training with Lazio as soon as July 10. He is likely to join the youth setup of the Biancocelesti. Their Primavera side is undergoing changes after relegation from the top tier.
Lazio Return for Anderson
Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson spent five years at Lazio between 2013 and 2018. West Ham signed him for £36 million ahead of the 2018/19 season. He was West Ham’s record signing. However, his performances were often inconsistent. He showed flashes of brilliance at times, scoring important goals and setting up attacking play, but they were few and far between. As a result, West Ham sent him out on loan to Porto in 2020/21.
Unfortunately, Sérgio Conceição had a sour relationship with Anderson. He was possibly signed against the manager’s wishes. He made just five league appearances all season.
The 28-year old now looks set to return to Lazio, where he made over 170 appearances and scored 34 times. West Ham are willing to let him go for free, so they can get him off the wage bill. There will be a clause that gives West Ham a percentage of any future sale. Personal terms have already been agreed between Lazio and Anderson.
