Cameron Jerome Returns to the Championship With Luton Town
Luton Town have had a busy day today securing not one but two experienced second tier players. The first is Cameron Jerome, who has years and years worth of experience of Championship football under his belt.
The striker last played for MK Dons in League One but with his contract due to expire at the beginning of July, he is set to make the step back up with Luton Town and will join on a free transfer.
Speaking about the move, Hatters boss Nathan Jones was happy to seal the signing of another forward for his club. He said to the club’s official website: “It’s really interesting one actually, because Cameron ticks so many boxes for us. We wanted someone specific because we’ve only got one target man really, and that’s Elijah Adebayo.
“So we wanted to bring in another target man, one for competition for Elijah, but also to provide something a little bit different as well. We feel Cameron can do a bit of everything, so it’s a real logical one.”

The 34-year old has played in Turkey and England and has plied his trade at the highest level and all the way down to the third tier. Most recently, he came back to England and played for the Dons in League One, where he impressed with a number of goal contributions. With 17 goal contributions in 34 games, you’d think the side would want to keep hold of him.
However, their loss is Luton’s gain, with the side eager to wrap up the signing of another striker – and they’ve done just that with Jerome.
Luton Town Secure Second Signing of the Day With Henri Lansbury
The Hatters haven’t been messing around today, wrapping up a second free agent signing of the day by bringing Henri Lansbury to the club.
The player will officially join Luton when his contract at Bristol City expires at the end of June and he will become the side’s fifth signing of the summer so far.

The 30-year old is another player with tons of experience of Championship football, which is something that is bound to aid Luton as they perhaps try and push on higher up the table next season. In fact, the midfielder also boasts three seasons of Premier League experience to boot.
Although he didn’t feature too regularly for City during the last campaign, he has over 200 Championship starts to his name and 78 goal contributions along the way from the centre of the field.
Most of those games came for Nottingham Forest, where he was one of their most important players. He also featured for Aston Villa, as they battled for a play-off spot and promotion back to the top tier of English football.
His signing will no doubt be another boost to Luton, as he certainly has that winning mentality and can help marshal his new side in midfield.
Barrow Bring Mark Ellis to the Club
The experienced Mark Ellis will be back in League Two next season after Barrow confirmed the signing of the 32-year old on a free.
He was released by Tranmere Rovers after spending some time at Notts County during the 2020/21 season and, although he dropped down to Conference level for the side, he did impress and bagged five goals. It prompted Barrow to take a chance on the defender

Ellis has played in over 200 League Two games during the course of his career and remains a solid presence at the back. He’s overseen promotions and has been a staple of the EFL for ten plus seasons now and his addition provides additional backbone to the current Barrow squad.
It’s a shrewd signing from the side on a free transfer and is their sixth deal of the window so far.
