There’s a battle on this summer to sign Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan, with several teams believed to be keen to do business. Bayern Munich have been linked and Chelsea have supposedly been keeping an eye on the situation but it’s Paris Saint-Germain who are leading the pack to seal a deal for him according to Fabrizio Romano.
Paris Saint-Germain Eager to Land Achraf Hakimi
Big Price Tag for Paris Saint-Germain to Pay for Achraf Hakimi
The player is set to command a hefty price tag though. After impressing in Serie A this season, it will require around 80 million Euros to bag his signature.
The 22-year old has impressed this year for Inter and is both versatile and technically skilled. Although he mainly plays on the wing (on the right), he’s also featured as a left and right-back. When on the ball, his range of passing is tremendous but he also possesses a good finishing ability of his own. This season for his club, he bagged 15 goal contributions (seven goals and eight assists) in 37 games, which isn’t a bad return for a 22-year old.
Career Began at Real Madrid
After starting out at Real Madrid in their Castillo, he spent some time on loan at Borussia Dortmund in Germany. He featured a fair amount for the Bundesliga side and showed flashes of his brilliance before returning to Spain.
Inter Milan saw the potential and snapped him up last summer, tying him up to a five-year deal. He has since flourished even more and is now drawing attention from even more of the biggest clubs in Europe.
He’s tried his hand in Germany, Spain and Italy so far and now his next venture looks like it could be in France. PSG are one of the front runners to sign him now and they’ll be willing to break the bank to bring him to the club. Chelsea have also registered an interest and they’ll have even more of a draw to them now they’ve claimed the Champions League trophy.
However, it’s understood, according to Romano, that the Blues are also interested in Wolves’ Adama Traore. He could be a less expensive and easier to attain target and he also has Premier League experience on his side whereas Hakimi doesn’t.
Only 22 and Yet He Possesses Pure Talent
However, there’s no question that Hakimi could boost any side that he does end up joining. The talent he possesses is clear to see and he’s done impressively for a number of his sides so far in his career. He’s just 22 and has already taken on some of the hardest leagues in Europe – if he has that experience behind him already and is already doing well, then he certainly looks like he has a bright future.
In that respect, perhaps the 80 million Euros that it may take to snatch him away from Inter Milan could be a steal. With the rise in transfer fees – and the potential growth in his talents – who knows how much the Morocco international could end up costing any potential suitor in the future. For now, it looks like PSG could be the next side to benefit from the exciting youngster and all of his potential talents.
