Outgoing Bayern Munich head coach Hansi Flick has a verbal agreement in place to take over the German national side according to Fabrizio Romano.
Flick, who will be departing Bayern Munich this weekend after two years in charge has been heavy favourite to replace Joachim Low, who is leaving his role as Germany manager after the European Championships.
According to Romano, Flick reached an agreement with the German Football Federation in April to replace Low. Its unclear at this stage when the official replacement for Joachim Low will be announced.

Flick Heavily Linked Since Confirming Departure from Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich’s departing head coach has been extensively linked with the German national job since Low announced his departure. Whether this swayed Flick to call time on his role as Bayern Munich head coach remains to be seen.
Its clear the national job is a honour for him should he replace Low. He is a former German international and has come on leaps and bounds in a very short time as a head coach.
Flick will leave Bayern Munich after this weekend’s Bavarian derby with FC Augsburg. He, alongside several first team players, will depart as Bayern Munich gear up for the arrival of Julian Naglesmann. Flick transformed Bayern Munich during his two years- winning consecutive Bundesliga titles, a German Cup and their fifth Champions League title.
He also brought a vibrant, attacking style of play which has caught the eye across Europe. That has clearly caught the eye of the German football authorities. His determination to bring success and exciting football certainly puts him in good steed to take over the national side.
Joachim Low has done an excellent job over the course of his 15 years in charge. Winning the 2014 World Cup and 2017 Confederations Cup have been the highs of his reign. He will want to go out on a high as this summer’s rearranged European Championships will be his final games in charge.
Hansi Flick seems a natural replacement and any news of Low’s replacement is likely to come after Germany’s participation in the European Championships.
