Chelsea fans will no doubt be praising the impact that Thomas Tuchel has had at the club since walking through the doors at Stamford Bridge.
They’ve gone from battling for a European spot to battling in a European final. They look like strong, worthy Premier League contenders again. The players look determined and are fit and firing for the new boss. Good things certainly appear to be on the horizon for the London side.
Give the man time and he might even restore former domestic and European glories upon the club sooner rather than later.
Mohamed Salah Among Chelsea Targets for Summer
Salah Heads Up Shortlist
He’s already identified the way forward too, with reports from Christian Falk claiming that he has three hugely ambitious targets to try and sign for the club this summer. Those three names?
Mohamed Salah, Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland.
Of course, the manager won’t be able to sign all three this summer, but the mere fact he is even targeting players of such calibre shows how lofty his ambitions are.
Mohamed Salah Impressed in England for Liverpool
Salah has been one of the best players in the Premier League since his move back to England from AS Roma. He’s managed over 20 goal contributions every season since as part of a Liverpool line-up that claimed a first league title and has won countless awards.
He’s certainly shown that he can cut in England and at the highest level and he’d be another goal threat for the Blues to add to their line-up.
If Liverpool didn’t want to part with one of their prized assets and lose him to a league rival, then they’re not short on other top-level targets that they plan to try and sign over the summer.
Lukaku Led Inter to Title
Another player with Premier League experience who has also proven that he can be a regular goal threat is Romelu Lukaku. The striker is currently at Inter Milan, who have just claimed a league title of their own.
In this campaign, he has bagged 21 goals in 33 league games for the Serie A side and has socred at least ten goals a season since he was 20-years old (he’s now 27).
In England, he was just as prolific. For Everton, West Bromwich Albion and even at Manchester United – despite some criticism aimed his way – he frequently found the net and has proven that he has that finishing touch.
Bringing him back to his former club – and giving him the chance to thrive – could certainly appeal to the Belgian. The issue is whether or not he wants to stay on at Inter and help his new club battle in the Champions League or fancies a new challenge.
Erling Haaland One of the Hottest Properties in Europe
The final man on the shortlist? Erling Haaland. A man massively in demand and Chelsea will face no shortage of competition for his signature. He’s also likely to cost an arm and a leg but he would no doubt be worth it. He’s young, hungry and has already proven himself as one of the best forwards not just in Europe but the world.
He has the potential to grow even more – and that’s a scary thought for any defenders coming up against him.
If Tuchel could bag any of these three players, it would be a massive statement of intent and would be a great step forward in trying to restart the glory days at Stamford Bridge.
