Manchester United Winger Leah Galton Agrees New Deal

‘A Massive Honour’

The 26-year-old signed for United in July 2018 and has made 51 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, scoring 14 goals.

She told manutd.com: “It’s a massive honour for me to sign a new long-term deal with the club. Since being here, I feel like I’ve developed in so many ways on and off the pitch and I’m especially grateful to Casey for her belief in me from the very start.

“I have to give a special mention to my team-mates who are like family to me. We are building something really special here and there is nowhere else I would want to be playing my football.

“I want to also thank the fans – that constant support from the start of my journey here has been incredible and I can’t wait for you all to be back singing in the stands.”

Undeniable Talent

Manager Casey Stoney also paid tribute to the winger following the news and added: “Leah’s talent is undeniable; I have always said that I see her as one of the best wingers in this country, and her performances throughout this season just prove that.

“She is hardworking and leaves it all out on the pitch every training session and every matchday, and she fully deserves to be signing a new contract with the club.

“From a head coach perspective, I’m so pleased that we have Leah committing her future to us. She will be a key player over the next few seasons.”

Experience in the United States and Germany

Galton arrived at United ahead of their first season as a relaunched team and played a key role in their Women’s Championship title and subsequent promotion to the Women’s Super League in 2018/19.

She has previous experience playing in the United States for National Women’s Soccer League side Sky Blue FC and in Germany for Bayern Munich.

The winger has represented England up to U23 level.
