Oxford United striker Derick Osei Yaw has joined League Two side Walsall on loan. The U’s have been looking for a loan move for the forward for some time.

Loan Move Needed for Oxford Forward
Walsall have added to their ranks with the addition of French forward, Derick Osei Yaw. The 22-year-old only joined the U’s in the summer but had been omitted from Oxford United’s league squad.
He made ten appearances for the club with five coming in the Football League Trophy, where he scored three goals. Ironically, he even netted the winner when Oxford faced Walsall in the group stages of the competition.
Despite looking promising in pre-season, including netting a brace against Brentford, Oxford manager Karl Robinson felt the striker needed a loan move away to help his development.
Walsall Looking for Goals
Walsall are mid-table in League Two and have had their ups and downs. The Saddlers have netted 32 goals from 25 league games this season, and they’ll be hoping the addition of Osei Yaw can add to the tally.
Speaking on the move, the French forward said: “I am very happy to join a project like Walsall’s, great club with a great history, looking forward to meet my teammates and accomplishing the club’s goals.
“In this loan I hope to have time to play matches and help my teammates for our goals for the rest of the season.
“I am a speedy player who likes to score goals and technically I am quite comfortable too but most importantly, to be decisive for my team.”
Walsall travel to bottom club Southend United at the weekend before the visit of Cheltenham Town – a club that Osei Yaw had been training with ahead of a proposed move.
