Scunthorpe United have completed the signing of Blackpool defender Teddy Howe on a loan deal that runs until the end of the season.
Scunthorpe United Add Blackpool Defender Teddy Howe to Their Squad
Teddy Howe Has Made Two Appearances
Howe has found playing time hard to come by at Blackpool, making just two appearances this season, with both appearances coming in the EFL Trophy matches against Barrow and Leeds United’s Under-23 sides.
He has not been included in the squad for any of Blackpool’s League One fixtures this campaign but was an unused substitute in the FA Cup ties against Eastbourne Borough and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Upon his arrival at Scunthorpe, he told iFollow Iron: “I’m excited to be here. It’s a new challenge and I’m looking forward to it. I’ve known about the interest for a few days and it’s come quite quickly really, but I’m buzzing to be here.”
Teddy Howe Can Play in a Number of Positions
The 22-year-old began his career at Reading and rose through the ranks with the Championship club, making 41 appearances for the Royals’ U23 team and featured two times for the first team before moving to Blackpool in January 2020.
He is known as a right-back but has also played as a centre-back, left-back and on the right side of midfield.
The defender has a solitary EFL appearance to his name after playing in the final match of the 2018/19 Championship season against Birmingham City.
Scunthorpe Are Next in Action Against Oldham Athletic
Howe joins a Scunthorpe side sitting 16th in League Two with 32 points from 26 games – eight adrift of Newport County in the play-off places and 11 clear of Grimsby Town in the relegation zone.
Neil Cox’s side are next in action at home to Oldham Athletic on February 6 hoping to secure a fourth consecutive league victory after beating Colchester United, Port Vale and Grimsby, 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.
