Dijon have agreed a deal to sign Aboubakar Kamara on loan from Fulham for the remainder of the season.
Dijon Add Aboubakar Kamara
Down the Pecking Order at Fulham
The 25-year-old has made 14 appearances and scored one goal across all competitions for the Cottagers so far this campaign, but has been an unused substitute in their previous two Premier League fixtures against West Bromwich Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion.
He only has two Premier League starts his name this season and has seen the likes of Ademola Lookman and Ruben Loftus-Cheek move above him in the pecking order in west London.
Kamara arrived at Fulham from French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC in July 2017, and has subsequently made a total of 93 appearances for the west London club, scoring 17 goals.
Dijon Loan is Kamara’s Second Away From Fulham
The move is Kamara’s second temporary switch away from Craven Cottage after he spent the second half of the 2018/19 season loan at Turkish Süper Lig side, Yeni Malatyaspor, where he found the net once in 13 appearances.
He now returns to France to help a Dijon side currently in the French Ligue 1 relegation zone, sitting 19th in the table with 15 points from 22 games – three points adrift of safety.
Kamara to Help Dijon in Quest for Survival
Dijon fans will be hoping that Kamara gives the French club some fresh impetus up front, after only mustering 15 goals in 22 games to date.
He also arrives with a fair amount of experience in French football, having scored 11 goals in 29 Ligue 2 appearances during his time at Amiens.
Kamara’s departure follows the news of another Fulham player heading to France, after Jean Michael Seri joined Bordeaux on loan.
Dijon are back in Ligue 1 action on February 3 when they host title-chasing Lyon.
