Adding Depth at Left-Back

The former Arsenal defender will add to Michael Appleton’s options at left-back.

City have seen Max Melbourne depart on deadline day, joining Walsall on loan until the end of the season. As a result, that leaves the Imps with Tayo Edun and youngster Sean Roughan as their first-choice left-backs.

It is currently Edun who occupies the starting berth on the left-hand side of defence, although he is predominantly a central midfielder. The 22-year-old has made 27 appearances so far this season, featuring at left-back since the 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic.

The arrival of Bramall will prove to be a shrewd addition for the Imps. He has made 57 appearances during his time with Colchester, 25 of which have come this season.

Despite being out of contract this summer, Lincoln have looked to add Bramall to their squad this window.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the official Lincoln City website after completing his move, Bramall said: “I am buzzing, and I can’t wait to get started. When I spoke with the gaffer, he was really positive about the club.

“I’ve played here before and the supporters were great, I can’t wait to show them what I can bring to the side.”

Michael Appleton added: “Cohen has fantastic pace and athleticism.

“He has great pedigree, with lots of quality in the final third and we are very pleased to be able to welcome him to the football club.”

Bramall could make his debut on Friday night against Gillingham.
