What Was Said?
On his signing, Thompson said: “I think it’s a club going in the right direction. This is a club with a rich history; a big club.
“I’m a good communicator and I like to get on the ball and play football. I’m not shy of a dirty game either. I’m versatile too and can play in a number of positions.”
Head coach Ross Embleton added: “He’s a driven individual. We feel we’re bringing in a player that is experienced at this level and the levels above. He wants to come to Leyton Orient. He wants to play.”
Thompson is the third new addition at the Breyer Group Stadium this January following the arrivals of Dan Kemp from West Ham United and Nick Freeman from Wycombe Wanderers.
Career So Far
Harlow-born Thompson started his career at Watford, but after loan spells with Brentford, Wycombe, Barnet and Southend United, he joined the latter on a permanent deal.
Thompson would go on to make over 100 appearances for Orient’s rivals before signing for Bury in 2017.
After a loan spell at Bradford, he was picked up by Rotherham in 2019 before making the move to East London.
