Bournemouth are reportedly edging towards a deal to sign Ben Pearson this month, with the player set to have a medical at the club according to Mark McAdam.
Bournemouth Set to Sign Ben Pearson
Out of Contract at Preston at End of Season
The midfielder is out of contract at current club Preston North End in the summer and has made it clear to boss Alex Neil that he would like a move away from the club, rather than to pen a new deal.
Rather than let the player leave for nothing at the end of the current season, it now appears that the club have decided to cash in on him now and look set to let him leave to join Bournemouth.
Set to Have Bournemouth Medical
According to the reports, a deal has been reached for the 26-year old and he will undergo a medical at the Cherries ahead of this deal.
Pearson has been one of North End’s most reliable and important midfielders since his move to the club on a free transfer and now Bournemouth are eager to add him to their squad in a bid to aid their promotion bid.
Celtic had also been linked with the midfielder, with reports earlier in the window claiming that the Scottish side were in talks over a pre-contract agreement for the player that would see him join them at the end of the season on a free transfer.
However, with Preston determined to secure a fee for him, they instead look set to miss out on a transfer for Pearson with Bournemouth willing to pay a fee and secure him now.
Deal to Send Ben Pearson to Bournemouth Has Been Agreed
Pearson has featured only nine times so far in the Championship this season due to both injuries and an admission that he would be looking for a move away from the club.
Now, it appears he has sealed the move he was looking for in Bournemouth and the Cherries have themselves a top midfielder.
