West Bromwich Albion are set to make their last bid for midfielder Okay Yokuslu, according to reports.
West Bromwich Albion to Make One More Bid for Celta Vigo Midfielder Okay Yokuslu
Played in Spain for Three Seasons
The Celta Vigo man has been in Spain for three seasons now and the Baggies are keen to bring him to England. Having tried on several occasions to bring him to the club during this transfer window, they are now set to make one final bid for the 26-year-old.
The bid would see the player join the Premier League side on a loan deal, which would see him play for West Brom for the remainder of the season. Also, as part of the deal, if the Baggies were to stay up then they would trigger a part of the deal that would mean they have to sign him permanently. It’s worth about £5 million.
Played in His Native Country for Trabzonspor
Yokuslu, who has also played in his native country of Turkey for Trabzonspor and Kayserispor, has struggled to feature too much in La Liga this season.
With just 12 league games so far for the player – and only three starts for Celta – a move to England would provide him with the chance to get game time on a more regular basis, albeit as part of a relegation battle.
West Bromwich Albion Want Okay Yokuslu to Help in Relegation Battle
West Brom have won just one of their last five league games and, despite Sam Allardyce taking the helm at the Hawthorns, it doesn’t appear to have had the desired effect on the club’s fortunes yet with the club’s most recent loss a 5-0 hammering to Manchester City.
They remain in a relegation battle, sat in 19th place and six points off safety. They’ll be hoping that by making additions like Yokuslu, they can put a string of results together that would get them out of the Premier League’s bottom three and keep them in the league – which would also ultimately see the Celta Vigo man pen a permanent deal with the Baggies to boot.
