Boost for Manchester United as Rashford Scan Shows No Major Injury
Rashford Cleared to Play After All-Clear Scan
Rashford scored and assisted in a man of the match performance against Liverpool on Sunday. However, there were concerns that he could miss upcoming games due to a knock he picked up in the match. It is now understood that the scans were precautionary. The tests revealed that the England striker only suffered minor bruising, to the relief of Solskjaer.
It is a tight turnaround for the Red Devils who are due to play Sheffield United on Wednesday. It is unclear whether Solskjaer plans to include the 23-year-old in his matchday squad. United will be looking to pick up their 11th win in their last 14 games in the Premier League. Facing Arsenal on Saturday is more of a priority for United and Solskjaer.
Rashford Key to Manchester United Success
Rashford’s goal against Liverpool was his 15th of the season, with only Bruno Fernandes scoring more for United. Rashford’s fitness will be key if United are to sustain their recent performances that currently see them top of the League.
There is still a long way to go however as goalkeeper David de Gea recognises. He has urged his fellow teammates not to get ahead of themselves. “I think the most important thing is just to be focused on the next game,” de Gea said. “Don’t think a lot about the next matches coming up, just the next one. You need to be 100 per cent on it for that match and to try to get the three points.
