Charlie Jolley Joins Tranmere Rovers on a Permanent Deal

Jolley is Keith Hill’s second signing since taking over as Tranmere manager.

The Young Striker Departs Cash-Strapped Wigan

Jolley is a product of the Wigan Athletic academy. Due to their current financial issues, Jolley has been part of the first team this season.

He has featured twice for the first team this season as Wigan can only register a certain number of players due to the club being in administration.

Jolley made a total of three league appearances for the club which gave him his break in football. He drops down a level hoping to make an impression at an improving Tranmere side.

He is the second new face to join after Nya Kirby signed last week. Keith Hill is slowly building a promotion charge with Rovers just outside the play-off places. They are in excellent form having won their last two league games. Jolley is raw and ready to showcase his abilities in League Two.

He could make his debut against Harrogate Town on Tuesday night.

Jolley Hoping to Make His Mark

Speaking to the Tranmere website about his move, Jolley said: “It’s a new challenge for me and now, I’m looking forward to getting going and hopefully I can score some goals.

“The Club is on the up. You see our form in the league, and the type of football that we play, I think it would suit me perfectly. I spoke to a couple of people that I know here, and it just seemed right.

“I think the type of player that I am, I like high-energy football and you see the lads give their all so I am definitely looking forward to getting my chance and hopefully making a mark.”
