Crystal Palace One of Several Clubs Interested in Demarai Gray
Frozen Out at Leicester
Gray has been frozen out by Brendan Rodgers at Leicester so far this season. The 24-year-old has made just two appearances for the Foxes so far this season, one in the Carabao Cup against Arsenal and against Palace in the Premier League.
As a result, he has predominantly been playing for the U23’s as he looks to maintain fitness before securing a move away. Gray has been interested in leaving the Foxes since last summer, according to Leicestershire Live.
The 24-year-old has struggled to adapt as the Foxes have become a Champions League-chasing club. His best spell at the King Power Stadium came last season, where he registered three goals and five assists in all competitions. However, he made just three starts in the Premier League.
As a result, Gray is looking to move away for more regular game time. He is likely to get that at Selhurst Park, as Palace look to bring down the average age of their squad with players under the age of 24.
However, the Eagles are not the only club interested in the Leicester winger. According to the report by The Athletic, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, Newcastle United and Everton have also shown an interest in Gray.
Furthermore, according to the Daily Mail, he has also held talks with French club Marseille, while German side Bayer Leverkusen have also shown an interest.
Due to him being surplus to requirements at Leicester, Gray is reportedly available for as little as £2 million.
