Walker Scored Once in Six Matches During His First Spell
A product of the Middlesbrough academy, Walker returns to Gresty Road hoping to aid Crewe’s unlikely promotion bid. The Railwaymen are just a point outside the League One play-off places.
This will be his second spell with the club having made six appearances during a loan spell last season. He managed one goal in that time before the season was curtailed due to the ongoing pandemic.
Walker spent the first half of this campaign with Milton Keynes Dons. He managed two goals in 12 league games for the Dons. In total, he managed five goals in 17 matches for MK Dons. Walker was hugely popular at both clubs and will be hoping to make a positive impression at Crewe once again.
The talented striker has also represented England at Under 19 level. In his nine England appearances, he has six goals to his name. He is a striker who loves to score goals. Walker is enhancing his football knowledge and certainly, a return to Crewe suits all parties. Middlesbrough will watch his progress closely with Walker ready to showcase his abilities once again.
Walker is Crewe’s second signing in as many days after a deal to sign Billy Jones from Rotherham was completed last night. He will help fill the void left by Perry Ng who left for Cardiff City earlier this week.
The striker could make his second debut this weekend when Crewe take on AFC Wimbledon. An important game for both sides in the context of their seasons.
