Arsenal’s up and coming teenage talent Bukayo Saka has continued to produce goals for the club. The 19-year-old scored his fourth goal of the 2020/21 Premier League season in the Gunners 3-0 victory over Newcastle United. With his goal, Saka now ranks fourth all-time in terms of involvement in goals by an Arsenal teenager in the English top flight.

The Future is Bright
According to the Premier League’s official Twitter account, Saka has been directly involved in 11 Premier League goals so far in his career with Arsenal at the senior level. Saka has registered five goals and six assists in 44 Premier League appearances. This ranks him behind only Nicolas Anelka, Cesc Fabregas, and Theo Walcott in terms of the all-time ranking at the club for goal involvement from a teenage player.
It’s very likely that Saka will soon surpass Walcott who was directly involved in 12 goals as a teenager. Anelka is at the top of this statistical ranking as he was involved in 30 goals while Fabregas is second with involvement in 28 goals.
There was another accomplishment from the victory over the Newcastle that Saka was involved in. According to OptaJoe, Emile Smith-Rowe has provided assists on three of Saka’s Premier League goals which is the most by an English duo below the age of 21. This statistical record shows the amount of potential these two young players possess as Arsenal’s future continues to look bright.
More Involvement to Come
Saka has already bettered his goal total from last season when he registered one goal in 26 appearances. With four goals and one assist at the halfway mark of the current season, Saka is closing in on topping his goal and assist total from the 2019/20 campaign when he had a combined total of six.
There should be more goals and assists to come during the current campaign from Saka as he continues to receive plenty of appearances from Mikel Arteta. His performance along with the other Arsenal youngsters has certainly been a bright spot in the Gunners’ season.
