Real Madrid are set to complete a deal to bring David Alaba to the club at the end of the season, according to Christian Falk.
David Alaba Set to Seal Summer Switch to Real Madrid
Signs on a Free Transfer
The defender has spent most of his professional career at current club Bayern Munich (except for a stint with Hoffenheim) and has racked up over 260 league games for the club.
He’s been one of their most solid players and, at one point, was even considered one of the best players in the world.
The 28-year-old has had more of a quiet few seasons since then for the German giants but has still featured 15 times for the club so far this campaign.
Four Year Deal For Alaba
However, with Real Madrid on the lookout for more top-level signings, they have identified and seemingly signed Alaba, with reports claiming that a deal is done to send the defender to the La Liga side at the end of the season.
Christian Falk claims that the deal for Alaba is a four-year contract – so the Spanish side believe that the player can produce on a high basis for the foreseeable future still.
Even worse for the Bundesliga team is that they will not receive a fee for the defender. Rather than selling the 28-year-old for a substantial fee this transfer window – the player would still command a decent fee – they are resigned to losing the player for nothing in the summer.
David Alaba Signing for Real Madrid is Good Business
The positive for the club is that they’ll at least have all the second half of the Bundesliga season to play Alaba and will get some more use out of him as they bid to win another league title – and maybe a European crown also.
Real Madrid though have signed a player that is sure to do a job for them in Spain after finally leaving Germany and Bayern.
