Ennis’ Career
Ennis came through the youth academy at Wolves but failed to make a senior appearance for the club, despite being a highly-rated prospect.
While there, he made a handful of appearances for the England U17 and U18 teams and also appeared once for the U19 side in 2018.
His senior experience so far has come in the form of loans. He made two appearances for Shrewsbury Town in 2017 and was a regular performer for Doncaster Rovers last season, scoring six times in 31 games.
Ennis was on loan at Burton Albion for the first half of this season but failed to score in eight games. Burton are also bringing up the rear in League One.
Fitting in at Plymouth
It hasn’t been a bad season for the Pilgrims so far. Following on from promotion under Ryan Lowe last season, they currently sit 15th in the table and are only two points adrift of the top half.
They are not short of options up front, but the bulk of their goals have come from young sensation Luke Jephcott. That isn’t expected to change, but Ennis’ arrival could ease some of the pressure on Jephcott, and also looks slightly to the future given that Jephcott is likely being scouted by those higher up the pyramid.
I’m delighted to join @Only1Argyle and can’t wait to get started. Heard good things about the club, style of play and the Green Army. Thanks for the warm welcome. 🟢🙏🏾✨ https://t.co/jQEi7pZvWo
