Both Manchester United and Liverpool are chasing Championship youngster Kaide Gordon, according to reports.
Manchester United and Liverpool Eye Kaide Gordon Move
Valued Highly by Derby
The 16-year-old is valued highly by current club Derby County, but with the club unable to pay player’s wages and struggling financially, they could be forced to sell some of their best assets this transfer window.
Gordon could fetch a significant fee for the Rams too, with the player valued at around £2 million.
Despite the rather hefty asking price for a youngster unproven in the Premier League, he is unlikely to have a shortage of suitors. Both Manchester United and Liverpool – the current top two sides in the top tier of English football – are eager to secure his signature and could launch a move for him this month.
Kaide Gordon Impressed Manchester United and Liverpool on Debut
He only made his first-team debut for Derby back in December and impressed many in his showing – which proves just how talented the youngster is.
Although reluctant to lose him, with the need to sell some assets and raise some funds, Derby will take any reasonable offers for the player this month that meet their valuation.
As part of any deal, they are likely to also want a percentage of the player’s next sell-on fee as well as the actual fee.
Sell-On Fee for Derby is Likely
With Gordon only 16-years-old and with many believing his potential is so huge, it means his value is likely to increase. This means that any future fee could be for an even bigger amount and Derby want to ensure that if he is sold again as part of a big deal, that they will receive a chunk of that next fee.
Gordon, who plays as a forward, has come up through the youth ranks at Derby and could be the next big player to emerge from the Rams youth ranks and thrive in the Premier League for whichever team signs him.
