Max Watters is having a stellar season for Crawley Town. The 21-year-old has scored 13 goals from just 14 League Two appearances, adding a further three from four in the FA Cup and Football League Trophy respectively.
It is the most impressive scoring streak of his career and, as a result, has attracted interest from Championship suitors.
The striker, who arrived from Doncaster Rovers in the summer, has hit the ground running with the Red Devils and Championship side Cardiff City have emerged as a potential destination for the youngster.
Cardiff Looking to Hijack Deal From Rivals Swansea City
According to Wales Online, the striker is also a target for rivals Swansea City, with the Bluebirds looking to hijack a potential deal.
Following the departure of Gavin Whyte to Hull City, Cardiff manager Neil Harris is looking for an attacking replacement and Watters would fit the bill.
Cardiff have struggled for goals this season. Kieffer Moore sustained an injury in December, while Robert Glatzel has struggled to regularly find the back of the net.
Harris’ side, who have lost their last three league games, have scored 29 goals in the league this season and sit 15th in the Championship, while the Swans have scored two goals less but occupy second spot in the table. This shows how the Bluebirds have failed to finish games off this season.
Crawley have valued the forward at upwards of £1 million, which is a significant amount of money for the club during these uncertain times.
