Taylor Returns to Vale Park on a Permanent Deal
Taylor is back at a club he knows well. He spent last season on loan at Vale Park and impressed both the fans and teammates with a string of excellent performances in midfield.
He returns to Vale having spent the first half of this season on loan at Scunthorpe United. However, that was cut short by Nottingham Forest who have now sold the player on.
Taylor started his career in the Manchester United academy before moving to Forest in 2015. He has been a regular for Forest’s Under 23s. His first spell at Port Vale was Taylor’s first taste of EFL action. Taylor signed up in August 2019 and became a huge success at the club.
He became a fans favourite for his tenacious performances and endeared himself with excellent goals. His most memorable came in a derby win at Crewe Alexandra which sparked scenes of joy.
He made 25 appearances for Vale, scoring seven times as he helped Vale establish themselves as promotion contenders until the curtailment of the season.
Taylor had a good first half of the season with Scunthorpe, making 14 appearances in all competitions.
His arrival at Port Vale will be timely after their recent slump of form and change of management. John Askey is gone and Danny Pugh is in caretaker charge until a permanent appointment is made. He got off to a winning start- thrashing Grimsby 3-0 at Vale Park.
Taylor’s arrival caps an excellent few days for Vale. He could make his second debut in tomorrow night’s Papa John’s Trophy tie against Sunderland.
