Brighton & Hove Albion have submitted a bid for teenage midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian. The Ecuadorian looked like he was on his way to Manchester United but several other teams, including Chelsea and West Ham United, have now emerged as suitors.

United Set to Miss Out
Since before the transfer window opened it looked as though Caicedo would end up at Manchester United. The young midfielder, who currently plays for Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle, had been a long-term target for the Red Devils.
However, in the last few days, more teams have emerged and shown interest in Caicedo, and since then it has been discovered that reports suggesting United were on the verge of completing the deal were wide of the mark.
As well as Brighton and United, Chelsea, West Ham and Everton have been credited with interest. However, Brighton are thought to have a strong relationship with Independiente after signing youngster Billy Arce from them in 2018.
It is not currently known what the value of Brighton’s bid is, but the interest from several Premier League teams is likely to drive the price upwards.
Caicedo would add to the great youth depth Brighton already have in their squad, which includes fellow South American Steven Alzate, who has been capped for Colombia.
