Newport County have added AFC Bournemouth striker Jake Scrimshaw to their ranks. Scrimshaw joins on loan for the remainder of the season as the Exiles boost their forward line.

Jake Scrimshaw Joins Newport County on Loan

Scrimshaw Spent the First Half of the Season At Walsall

The striker is a product of the Bournemouth academy and spent the first half of the campaign at Walsall, scoring two goals. Both came in a terrific win against Port Vale.

Scrimshaw will remain in League Two, hoping to continue his development and score more goals. He is ready to prove his worth and help Newport as they continue to battle for promotion.

Speaking to the Newport website about his move, Scrimshaw said: “I’m buzzing to get started. I met the lads today and got all the papers signed, so I’m looking forward to playing for the club now.”

“I played against Newport when I was with Walsall and I liked the way that they played. They always look to play football and I think that will suit my game.”

“When I found out about the club’s interest, it was an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down.”

Newport Also Add Midfielder Jack Evans to Their Ranks

As well as announcing the arrival of Scrimshaw, Newport have also signed Swansea City midfielder Jack Evans. Evans has joined the Exiles on a permanent deal, signing a contract until the end of the season.

Evans is a combative midfielder who enjoys getting forward. He will be a much-welcomed addition after Newport saw five players recalled earlier this week. He takes Newport’s January signings to three with the Exiles revamping for a busy second half of the season.

Speaking about his move, Evans said: “I’m thrilled to be here and I can’t wait to get going. It’s a Welsh club and the style of play suits me, so I think it’s a perfect fit.”

“The move has been in the works for a little while and when the opportunity came up, I jumped at the chance.”

“It’s a really exciting time for the club given where they are in the league table, so I’m looking forward to getting started.”
