Swindon Town are set to sign Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers on loan for the rest of the season, according to BBC Sport.
The keeper started the season as Bournemouth’s first choice but fell out of favour after a string of disappointing performances. The arrival of Travers looks likely to continue Swindon’s busy start to the transfer window.
Swindon are desperate for reinforcements to enhance their chances of staying in League One. Travers’ arrival will compensate for the departure of Manchester United loanee Matej Kovar, who has been recalled by the Red Devils.

The Keeper Brings Premier League Experience
Travers is set to become Swindon’s second signing of this transfer window after Dominic Thompson joined from Brentford earlier this week. The keeper started as first choice at Bournemouth but was eventually dropped to the bench following Asmir Begovic’s return to form.
He was used sparingly by both Eddie Howe and current Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall. He made a handful of appearances in the Premier League and that experience could really help a struggling Swindon side.
A move to Swindon offers much-needed experience and game time for the 21-year-old goalkeeper. He will compete with Joe Fryer for the number one spot after Matej Kovar was recalled by Manchester United.
Czech Republic international Kovar was the first choice under Richie Wellens and current Town manager John Sheridan. It is unknown at this stage what Manchester United plan to do with the young goalkeeper.
Travers’ arrival will be welcome. His move is subject to the player returning a negative Coronavirus test. The move should be a formality once Swindon receive that information.
Should everything be agreed in time, Travers could make his Swindon debut this weekend when the Robins take on Ipswich Town.
With the arrival of Travers imminent, John Sheridan is further boosted by the return of Matt Palmer and Scott Twine. Palmer returns from relegation rivals Wigan Athletic, while Twine returns after an excellent first half of the season with Newport County.
Twine scored seven times to help the Exiles establish themselves as promotion contenders in League Two.
