Joining Fellow Foxes
Unsurprisingly, King won’t be the only player with ties to Leicester in the Leuven squad. Midfielder Kamal Sowah, goalkeeper Daniel Iversen and forward Josh Eppiah are all on loan at the Belgian side.
Leuven currently sit sixth out of 18 teams in the Belgian First Division A and King could make his debut this weekend when they face fourth-placed Anderlecht, who are managed by former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany.
The club are well on course to achieve a European place this season, currently sitting just three points behind Anderlecht who occupy the last spot for a Europa League qualifying place. This is Leuven’s first season back in the top flight after relegation in 2016.
The club were also once managed by Nigel Pearson, who guided the Foxes into the Premier League and kept them safe in their first season.
Leicester Era Comes to an End for Andy King
With King now fully leaving Leicester behind, it brings to an end a 15-year stay at the club, where he came through the youth academy after leaving Chelsea as a youngster.
He has featured for the Foxes in League One, the Championship and the Premier League, and was part of the miraculous Leicester team that secured a shock Premier League title in 2015/16.
As Leicester have grown into regular European contenders, King has been loaned out numerous times – to Swansea City, Derby County, Rangers and Huddersfield Town.
He leaves having made over 370 appearances for the club.
