AC Milan have made a bid of €15 million for Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan and a €5 million bid for Toulouse youngster Kouadio Kone, according to Fabrizio Romano.
AC Milan’s prime target in this transfer window is to add another centre-back to their ranks. Simakan is one of the brightest prospects in Ligue 1 having made the breakthrough at Strasbourg impressing over the past two seasons.
Kone has caught the eye of the Italian giants whilst playing in Ligue 2 with Toulouse.
According to Romano, AC Milan are talking to both clubs about deals for the players as they look to maintain their title push in Serie A.
AC Milan Make Their Move for France-Based Pair Mohamed Simakan and Kouadio Kone
Simakan Has Impressed in a Struggling Side
The talented defender has started all 17 of Strasbourg’s league games. Despite their struggles in Ligue 1, Simakan has been one of their better players. He is raw at 20 years of age but has impressed this season with a string of excellent performances.
AC Milan have made their move with other clubs including Chelsea showing an interest in the defender. He is a pacey centre-back who reads the game well. He is a strong tackler and willing to put his body on the line. Simakan is also a strong passer of the ball and would certainly suit AC Milan’s style of play.
Talks are ongoing with Strasbourg about a deal but certainly, it would be a real coup for AC Milan if they get this deal done.
Kouadio Kone Is Also on AC Milan’s Radar
As well as moving for Simakan, AC Milan have also bid for highly-rated Toulouse defender Kouadio Kone. Like Simakan, Kone has established himself as one of French Football’s brightest defensive prospects.
He made 13 appearances during the 2019/20 season as Toulouse were relegated from Ligue 1. Since that disappointment, the teenager has gone from strength to strength establishing himself as Toulouse’s first-choice centre-back. He has featured in 17 of Toulouse’s league games, starting 13 of those.
Kone is a pacey centre-back, who is developing well. He likes a tackle and can get attacks started from the back. He is another viable option for AC Milan as they look to add to their defensive options.
Talks are ongoing between the two clubs but again, like Simakan, his arrival would certainly represent another impressive piece of business.
