Shrewsbury Town have made their first addition of the January transfer window by bringing in Harry Chapman. The winger joins the Shrews from Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the 2020/21 season. Chapman, an England U20 international, has previously represented Barnsley and Sheffield United.

What Was Said?
Speaking to the club website about the new signing, Shrewsbury manager Steve Cotterill said: “Harry Chapman is another young lad who will fit well into the group. Harry can play as a 10 and in both the wide areas.
“He’s a player who gives us flexibility. He’s dynamic and has done very well in the Championship previously. We are delighted to have him on board with the other lads in those areas.”
Season So Far
With Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott making waves in the Championship with Blackburn, and the Rovers squad looking settled in general under Tony Mowbray, Chapman has found it hard to break into the team this season.
He has made just five appearances so far in the league but could find game time easier to come by in League One.
Shrewsbury looked to be struggling at the start of the season but parted company with Sam Ricketts after they blew a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at MK Dons. Since Cotterill came in to replace him, he has given the side a new lease of life.
The signing of Chapman has the potential to be an excellent addition that can help Shrewsbury to continue their revitalisation and steer them further towards safety in League One.
