Burnley youngster Josh Benson has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the club until June 2023.
The new contract also includes the option of a further year at Turf Moor for the 21-year old, who made his Premier League debut against Manchester City in November.
Benson is the latest player to commit his future to the Clarets, following new deals for team-mates Jay Rodriguez, Matej Vydra, Ben Mee, Ashley Westwood and Dwight McNeil since the end of last season.

Josh Benson ‘Really Happy’ at Burnley
Speaking to the club website, Benson said: “I’m really here. I’ve worked hard for this and now I just want to crack on and focus on my football. It’s been a great few weeks.
“I’ve been getting more confident, playing the games, and now the club has shown faith in me I feel even more confident and hopefully I can push on and deliver on the pitch.”
Commenting on his time at Turf Moor, the midfielder added: “It’s a great club and I feel like I’ve matured a lot, developed as a player here, and realised it’s a different life from being a boy to a man, moving away from home.
“Being at a Premier League club has been a dream of mine and now I’m training regularly, being on the bench and starting to get some minutes with the first team it’s becoming a reality.
“I just want to be the best player I can be and play as many games as possible. This is just the start and I want to build on it and hopefully earn more contracts in the future.”
Succeeding up North
Benson joined the Burnley academy in 2018 after being released by Arsenal and spent last season on loan at Grimsby Town.
The then-20-year-old made 11 appearances for the League Two side, scoring two and providing two assists in the COVID-19 shortened season.
Returning to Turf Moor, Benson was fast-tracked into the first team before making his competitive debut against Sheffield United in the Carabao Cup.
He has made five first-team appearances this season and is included in the squad to face Aston Villa tonight.
