Gaining Experience Out on Loan

The move to Bolton will offer the 21-year-old the opportunity to continue his development out on loan, gaining vital minutes in the process.

Kioso has just three appearances to his name currently at Luton. Two of those came in the EFL Cup earlier this season, as the Hatters were eventually dumped out of the competition by Manchester United.

However, it was his performance against the Premier League side that saw him gain plenty of interest. Despite the defeat, Kioso was awarded the man of the match award after an impressive display.

The 19-year-old began his career in non-league with Dunstable Town, before moving on to join Hartlepool United in 2018.  After making 69 appearances during his time with the North East club, Kioso was eventually snapped up by Luton.

What Was Said?

Speaking  about his new signing to the official Bolton Wanderers website, Head Coach Ian Evatt revealed that the right-back is a player who he has admired for some time.

He said: “I am delighted to confirm we have signed Peter Kioso from Luton who is a player I have admired for a long time and have chased since the start of pre-season.

“Peter can play a variety of positions, has great pace and power and adds quality to our squad.”

Kioso said: “I’m delighted to sign for the club and I can’t wait to get going and show everyone what I can do.’’

The Trotters are currently 19th in League Two, and face Oldham Athletic this weekend.
