Queens Park Rangers have completed another summer signing by bringing Chris Willock to the club from Benfica.

QPR Sign Chris Willock

Willock Has impressed for Benfica’s B side

The 22-year old plied his trade in Portugal with the Benfica B/Reserve side, where he impressed by bagging 14 goals in 64 games (and with nine assists).

Experienced in English football

Willock has played in England before for West Bromwich Albion, Huddersfield Town and Arsenal, coming through the youth ranks at the latter.

In fact, the youngster played twice for the Gunners in the EFL Cup before making the switch to Portugal.

Having played there for two years, he then came back to England to play for West Brom on a short-term basis. However, he never made an appearance for the club’s first-team, instead featuring 11 times for the club’s U23 side and notching up 11 goal contributions – an average of one per game.

Loan Spell With Huddersfield

It impressed Huddersfield, who then also signed him on loan and gave him the chance to shine in their starting 11. Playing 14 times for the Terriers in the 2019/20 season, he popped up with two goals before heading back to Benfica.

Now, he has come back again for a third time with QPR, who have been looking to bolster their forward line even more.

QPR One of a Number of Teams Interested in Chris Willock

West London Sport claim that QPR haven’t been the only team keen to bring Willock back to England, with former loan side Huddersfield also eager to bring him back to the club.

However, he has instead decided to join the Hoops over his former side.

He becomes QPR’s third attacking signing of the summer after they brought in both Lyndon Dykes from Scottish side Livingston and Macauley Bonne from Charlton Athletic.
