Bayern Munich’s chase for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi appears to be over according to Fabrizio Romano.
The two clubs were in discussions over a potential loan deal with an option to buy. However, it appears Chelsea want to keep him and Bayern Munich have turned their attentions elsewhere.
Romano confirms Bayern Munich’s attentions have turned to Marseille winger Bouna Sarr. The Bavarians are also reportedly close to signing Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca. It is unknown at this stage whether it is a loan or permanent deal for the Spanish midfielder.
Bayern Munich And Chelsea End Talks Over Callum Hudson-Odoi
Hudson-Odoi Expected To Play Important Role At Chelsea
Bayern Munich have held long term interest in the England winger but have failed to agree any deal with Chelsea. The player himself seems settled in West London and has not hinted his future lies elsewhere. Hudson-Odoi signed a new five year deal last summer. It appears Bayern Munich’s chase for Hudson-Odoi is over with the focus now on pursuing other targets.
Hudson-Odoi started Chelsea’s league win over Crystal Palace and has made a decent start to the Premier League season. Frank Lampard sees him as part of his plans going forward. He is going in confident and clearly Lampard sees the potential in him. Hudson-Odoi is expected to play a key role this season with Chelsea competing in several competitions.
Bayern Munich have quickly moved onto alternative targets. Marseille’s Bouna Sarr appears to be the man they are chasing. He has played in various positions on Marseille’s right hand side. Sarr has played in the winger role and wing back when Andre Villas-Boas has reverted to a back three.
Sarr’s versatility is certainly a positive going forward and he is likely to join as a back up player. As well as Sarr’s arrival, Bayern Munich are also reportedly closing in on Espanyol’s Marc Roca.
Roca is Espanyol’s prized asset and certainly is an excellent addition to the Bayern Munich ranks.
