Bayer Leverkusen are close to signing Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac, according to Fabrizio Romano. The defender has dropped down the pecking order at Arsenal and wants to return to Germany.
Kolasinac is likely to provide competition for Daley Sinkgraven. The Bosnian international can also play at centre back.
According to Romano, the deal is worth €11 million-plus add ons. Romano notes the deal is likely to be completed in the next 48 hours.

The departure of Kolasinac will give Arsenal extra funds to pursue their own transfer targets. He has struggled for consistent game time in North London with injuries and loss of form culminating in time off the pitch.
The Bosnian international has been interested in a return to Germany and Leverkusen offers him that chance. Peter Bosz has been looking to strengthen his defence this summer and Kolasinac’s arrival does just that.
Bosz has preferred a back three setup at Leverkusen and Kolasinac is no stranger to this style of play. Mikel Arteta regularly uses this formation at Arsenal and Kolasinac has slotted into the back three. However, he is primarily a left-back and he can easily slot in on the Leverkusen left. But, he will face competition from Dutchman Daley Sinkgraven.
Slow Window for Leverkusen
Leverkusen are likely to have a busy finish to the transfer window but the club yet to replace Kai Havertz. Patrick Schick, Santiago Arias and Lennart Grill are the only Leverkusen arrivals this summer. Their objective this season is to return to the top four after finishing in the Europa League places last season.
However, it has been a slow start to the campaign for Leverkusen having drawn their opening two league games. Leverkusen and Kolasinac seems to be a good match, should the deal be completed.
