Son Heung-Min Hamstring Injury a Further Blow to Tottenham Hotspur After Newcastle United Defeat
Spurs to Lose Key Hitman for Some Time
The South Korean forward was impressive once again in the first half against the Magpies. He struck the woodwork twice with two powerful efforts. Both times he was just inches away from adding to his fantastic goal haul.
Sadly, he was pulled by Mourinho at half-time. At first, there was speculation as to whether he might have been rested. But, this was not the case as Mourinho has now confirmed after the game. Instead, the player has suffered a hamstring injury.
Harry Kane will miss his partner in crime, with the pair in fine form recently.
Son’s Replacement
However, this does allow Steven Bergwijn to potentially return to the starting line-up. The Dutch forward has not started a game for Spurs since, despite a promising start to his career at Tottenham.
On the other hand, it could open the door for Dele to at the least sit on the bench. Currently, the player is seemingly out of favour with Mourinho, despite starting for Spurs in the Europa League against Shkendija.
Gareth Bale is still not match fit and will take some time to return to the starting line-up. The Welshman watched on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
