Silas Wamangituka Emerging as a Top Young Bundesliga Talent
An Instant Impact
Wamangituka has had an instant impact on Stuttgart so far this season. He was instrumental in their victory over Mainz as he recorded a goal and an assist. In the DFB-Pokal, he recorded the match-winning goal against Hansa to send Stuttgart through to the second round. This has been a much-needed explosion of goals from Wamangituka as the club look to stay up in the Bundesliga this season. After being relegated twice in the last five years, Stuggart are looking to make a consistent run of appearances in the top flight. He can provide the spark they need to stay up in the Bundesliga.
The impact of Wamangituka was evident last season as well. He recorded seven goals and eight assists during the 2019/20 campaign in the 2.Bundesliga. During the last four matchdays of the season, he registered four assists and one goal to help contribute to Stuttgart’s automatic promotion to the Bundesliga.
Before joining Stuttgart, the Congolese talent had a successful time playing for Paris FC in France’s Ligue 2. During the 2018/19 season, Wamangituka scored 11 goals in 32 appearances in the French second division. This impressive goal scoring record led to Stuttgart signing him to a five-year contract.
A Bright Future Ahead
At just 20, Wamangituka is emerging as of the top attacking prospects the Bundesliga currently has. The league already has a wealth of young talent with players such as Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho, Florian Wirtz, and Dayot Upamecano featuring. It appears Wamangituka is on the path to joining these names as top prospects in the league. He is certainly a player to keep an eye on as the season continues. If Wamangituka can continue to produce goals and assists on a consistent basis, opportunities with bigger clubs will come.
