REPORT: Brentford’s David Raya and Rico Henry Are Not for Sale

Arsenal David Raya

Brentford have warned the Premier League clubs that are interested in goalkeeper David Raya and left-back Rico Henry that they are not for sale. With just three weeks left until the transfer window ends, Sky Sports News reports that Brentford are hoping to keep hold of the duo.

Brentford, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, have seen their star players subject to Premier League speculation. Their top goal-scorer, Ollie Watkins, has already departed, with Aston Villa securing the front-man for £33 million.

Brentford Warn Potential Buyers that David Raya and Rico Henry Are Off the Market

David Raya and Rico Henry Face Premier League Speculation

No other goalkeeper in the Championship kept more clean sheets than David Raya last season. His performances in the 2019/20 campaign deservedly attracted Premier League interest. The Spanish shot-stopper has been heavily linked with a move to nearby Arsenal.

The Gunners are keen on bringing the 25-year-old to The Emirates, with current back-up goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez looking set to join Aston Villa. However, Brentford are reluctant to sell Raya. It will certainly be tough for Arsenal to negotiate a deal for the Spaniard, with Raya being an integral part of Thomas Frank’s side.

Whilst battling to keep Raya, the Bees are also trying to keep full-back Rico Henry. The 23-year-old was a key figure in Brentford’s promotion push last season, playing all 46 league games. His rather impressive 2019/20 campaign for the Bees has attracted the interest of the premier league.

West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United have both expressed an interest in Henry. Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City have also been linked with the 23-year-old.

Brentford are Willing to Sell Said Benrahma

It seems that Brentford are prepared to lose Said Benrahma over the previously mentioned duo. The winger had a brilliant 2019/20 campaign; he found the back of the net 17 times and provided 10 assists.

The reason why Brentford are willing to lose Benrhama appears financially driven. It is expected that the sale of Benrahma would generate a significant fee for the club. The Bees are also well-stocked with left-wingers, with Tariqe Fosu and Sergi Canos more than able to step in.

Crystal Palace are set for talks with Brentford over signing Said Benrahma. The West London club will sell to Palace if they can meet their £25 million valuation.
