Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of the United States and Orlando Pride forward, Alex Morgan.
She becomes the fifth member of the world champions’ squad to sign for a WSL club this summer.
The American’s move to the London side is subject to her obtaining a visa.
Morgan is one of the biggest names in women’s football after helping her team win back-to-back World Cups.

NWSL Players Incoming
In recent weeks, her USA team-mates Sam Mewis, Rose Lavelle, Tobin Heath and Christen Press have all signed for English Women’s Super League teams.
Mewis and Lavelle joined Manchester City, while Heath and Press donned Manchester United shirts for the first time this week.
It was initially expected that Morgan would play for Spurs until December before returning to the United States. However, it has been announced that she will be with the team “for the 2020/21 season”.
Morgan will not play in the NWSL’s upcoming Fall Series, but her playing rights will be retained when she returns to Orlando Pride.
The WSL has gained strength in recruiting from other counties during this transfer window.
This includes Chelsea’s addition of Denmark star Pernille Harder, as well as England full-backs Lucy Bronze and Alex Greenwood’s joining Manchester City from European champions Lyon.
Spurs on the Rise
Tottenham were playing in the London and South-East Regional Premier Division as recently at 2007.
They are competing in the WSL for only a second season this term, after finishing seventh in their debut top-tier campaign last time out following promotion in 2019.
It is unknown if and when Alex Morgan will make her debut as the club awaits visa confirmation.
Spurs face Everton in the first game of the 2020/21 season on Sunday 13 September at 1pm. They’re in FA Cup action against North London rivals, Arsenal on Saturday 26 September.
