Monaco have signed German forward Kevin Volland on a four-year deal from Bayer Leverkusen, the club confirmed earlier today.
The 28-year old arrives at the Stade Louis II stadium for an undisclosed fee after scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists in 27 appearances for Leverkusen last season.
Volland is the third player to sign for Nico Kovač’s side this summer, following the arrival of Axel Disasi from Reims and Atletico Madrid’s Caio Henrique.

Volland Happy With Move
Speaking to the club website, the German international said: “I am delighted to join a club with such a great history and strong ambitions.
“I have been following the team’s results and I am now looking forward to joining the group and getting down to work to bring my skills to the team.”
Meanwhile, Monaco’s sporting director, Paul Mitchell, said: “Kevin’s profile is that of a versatile striker, capable of being a forward, second striker or winger on both sides.
“He is a player who works hard for the team with statistics that show his goal-scoring and selflessness.
“I am convinced that his energy and experience will be very positive assets for the group and underline our desire to develop an attractive, intense and forward-thinking style of play.”
End of Long Career Chapter
Volland made his professional debut for Munich 1960 as an 18-year old and went on to score 20 goals and register 16 assists in 60 appearances for the 2.Bundesliga side.
He stepped up to the Bundesliga in 2012, spending four seasons at Hoffenheim before his attacking capabilities caught the attention of Bayer Leverkusen.
In four seasons at the BayArena, Volland – who has ten caps for Germany – added 50 goals to his career tally, including two in the Champions League, as well as captaining the side on numerous occasions. Now, however, the German will be tasked with taking France by storm.
